Marimba by David Moliner is a groundbreaking album that showcases the rich sonic possibilities of the marimba. Featuring masterful arrangements and original compositions, Moliner highlights the instrument’s expressive range across styles and eras. His transformative take on Bach’s Cello Suites reveals new polyphonic textures, while his interpretations of Debussy’s Arabesques and Schubert’s Impromptu add delicate, impressionistic depth. The contemporary piece Jalak Suren by Alexander Liebermann evokes Indonesian bird songs, blending rhythmic subtlety with lyrical storytelling. The album culminates in Moliner’s own composition, affirming the marimba as a powerful voice in classical music from Baroque to Modern.

Born in 1991 in Cuenca, Spain, David Moliner is a composer and percussionist whose work bridges physical performance and innovative composition. Trained by renowned figures such as Pascal Dusapin and Jörg Widmann, Moliner developed a personal aesthetic called “dynamism,” rooted in the bodily nature of percussion. His compositions—often theatrical and gestural—span orchestral and chamber music and are published by Universal Edition. Moliner’s music has been performed by top ensembles and orchestras across Europe, and he has collaborated with leading artists and conductors. Also an acclaimed soloist, he has played in prestigious venues and won multiple awards for both performance and composition.
