Mort au Printemps is a piano duo album that explores death as a creative force, set against the backdrop of early 20th-century Europe's pervasive sense of tragedy. Featuring works by Stravinsky, Debussy, and Remacha, the album highlights the composers' personal and aesthetic connections, while presenting three distinct approaches to mortality: Stravinsky’s archaic ritualism, Debussy’s war-infused atmosphere, and Remacha’s intimate grief following his grandson’s death. Through the expressive possibilities of the piano duo, often overlooked compared to solo or orchestral works, the recording revives a powerful, multifaceted genre as a vehicle for profound emotional and artistic expression.

Piano duo Maite León and Antón Dolgov have performed together since 2011, building a dynamic partnership celebrated for its artistry and chemistry. They have played over 100 concerts across four continents, gracing prestigious venues like the Palau de la Música Catalana, Krakow Philharmonic, and China’s Grand Theatre of Harbin. Collaborating with major orchestras and conductors, they’ve also featured at leading festivals including Schubertíada and the Berlin Piano Duo Festival. The duo has won over ten international awards, and their acclaimed debut album ESSENZ received high praise. Beyond performing, they are educators, editors, and social media advocates for classical piano duo repertoire.
