Clarinetist Andreas Ottensamer releases his new digital album Romanza, on which he presents a beautiful collection of works by Satie, Brahms, Rachmaninoff, Rota, Debussy and many more. He collaborates with his long-term recital partner José Gallardo. Having captured audiences and critics alike with his distinct musicianship and versatility as clarinetist, artistic director and conductor, Ottensamer is considered one of the leading instrumentalists of our time. 

Andreas Ottensamer, born in 1989 in Vienna, is a renowned clarinetist and conductor from a musical Austro-Hungarian family. Initially studying piano and cello, he switched to clarinet in 2003 and joined the Berliner Philharmoniker’s Orchestra Academy in 2009. He served as principal clarinetist with the Berlin Philharmonic from 2011 to 2025. Since 2021, Ottensamer has pursued conducting, working with maestros like Riccardo Muti and Sir Simon Rattle, and leading major orchestras worldwide. He is artistic director of Switzerland’s Bürgenstock Festival and collaborates with top musicians. Ottensamer records exclusively with Deutsche Grammophon, being the first clarinetist on their Yellow Label.
