Angela Hewitt (born July 26, 1958, in Ottawa, Canada) is a renowned classical pianist celebrated for her interpretations of Bach. Daughter of choirmaster Godfrey Hewitt, she began piano lessons at age three and gave her first full recital at nine. She studied at the Royal Conservatory of Music and the University of Ottawa under Jean-Paul Sevilla. Hewitt’s acclaimed discography includes the complete major keyboard works of J.S. Bach, plus works by Couperin, Rameau, Messiaen, Ravel, Beethoven, Chopin, and more. She launched the Trasimeno Music Festival in Italy and serves as its artistic director. Since 2002, she has performed on Fazioli pianos.
