With the new GENUIN album featuring Atsuko Koga (flute), Georgiy Lomakov (cello), and Marianne Le Mentec (harp), we soar across time and space. At the heart of this recording are works by Claude Debussy for flute, cello, and harp, which adorn the nymphs, naiads, and nature gods of ancient Greece in twentieth-century musical attire. This unusually configured ensemble constructs a temporal bridge spanning from antiquity through Impressionism to the present day – featuring works by André Caplet, Claude Debussy, and Tōru Takemitsu and culminating in the premiere recording of Fuminori Tanada’s Trio.

Atsuko Koga is a concert flutist from Fukuoka, Japan, who studied in Tokyo, Paris, Cologne, and Munich. She has won top prizes at international competitions including Lutéce, Gaston Crunelle, and Jeunesses Musicales, with additional awards in Barcelona, Tokyo, and Italy. As a soloist, she has performed with major orchestras in Japan, France, Bulgaria, and Germany. Her concerts, recordings, and broadcasts have earned acclaim, especially in Germany. In 2023, she received the Hermann Spier Prize for her long-standing charity concert work. Koga performs on a Nagahara Boston 138 Flute made of 18-karat gold.

Ukrainian-born cellist Georgiy Lomakov began his musical journey at age six and quickly gained recognition, winning first prize at the Uzbekistan International Competition at eight. He later earned top awards at prestigious competitions such as the Antonio Janigro and Johannes Brahms competitions. At thirteen, he moved to Germany to study with Reiner Faupel, followed by advanced studies with Siegmund von Hausegger, Laurence Lesser, and Wen-Sinn Yang. Lomakov made his American solo debut while still in university and has since performed widely across Europe and Japan. His critically acclaimed recordings and international recitals have solidified his reputation as a leading cellist.

Marianne Le Mentec is an acclaimed harpist who studied at the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique de Paris, earning first prizes in harp performance and chamber music. She furthered her training there and won first prize in chamber music at the Banff Centre in Canada. A winner of the Soka International Harp Competition in Japan, she has performed internationally, including in Tokyo and San Francisco. She regularly appears with major orchestras such as the Orchestre de Paris and Ensemble Intercontemporain, notably premiering Pierre Boulez’s Sur Incises. Le Mentec also teaches harp at the CRDs in Aulnay-sous-Bois and Bourg-la-Reine/Sceaux.
