Tamar Sagiv (b. 1994, Israel) began cello studies at age eight, later training with Hillel Zori and joining the Jerusalem Music Center’s Outstanding Young Program. She debuted as soloist with the Kibbutz Youth Orchestra in Germany and with the Kibbutz Chamber Orchestra under Yaron Gotfrid. Sagiv has participated in international festivals and academies, studying with renowned cellists including Gary Hoffman, Frans Helmerson, and Ralph Kirshbaum. A prizewinner at the Buchmann-Mehta School of Music, she led its orchestra’s cello section under Zubin Mehta, earning his commendation. In 2019, she performed with New York’s International Contemporary Ensemble. She now studies for her Master’s at Mannes School with Matt Haimovitz.
