This recording pairs two important Mendelssohn works: Fanny Mendelssohn Hensel’s String Quartet in E-flat major, H. 277 and Felix Mendelssohn’s early Violin Concerto in D minor, MWV O 3. Fanny’s quartet reveals striking originality and depth, underscoring her distinctive compositional voice. Felix’s concerto is offered both in its familiar version and, for the first time, in a newly published version presented as a world premiere. Together, these works showcase Fanny’s expressive mastery and Felix’s extraordinary youthful talent, offering listeners a chance to rediscover their artistry from fresh and complementary perspectives.

Lina Tur Bonet, internationally acclaimed for her virtuosity, energy, and stylistic precision, has built a dynamic career as soloist, conductor, concertmaster, and ensemble leader. She performs worldwide, serving as Concertmaster of Jordi Savall’s Le Concert des Nations and founding Musica Alchemica, which tours globally and collaborates across artistic disciplines. Her recordings, including the award-winning À Moune (Best CD of the Year, Japan 2022), have earned wide recognition. She has revived lost works by Vivaldi, Boccherini, and Mendelssohn, alongside contemporary premieres, and performs repertoire from Baroque to Bartók. Tur Bonet also teaches at Madrid’s Reina Sofía School of Music and the University of Music Franz Liszt Weimar.
