Miraculously, the magnificent grand organ of Notre-Dame de Paris survived the catastrophic fire in April 2019. With its 8000 pipes fully cleaned and restored, it was back in action for the historic reopening of Notre-Dame in December 2024. This is the first recording on the newly restored organ. Vincent Dubois, one of Notre-Dame’s four titular organists, has recorded Eternal Notre-Dame to showcase this monumental instrument (built by the great Aristide Cavaillé-Coll) and to salute its heritage.
Vincent Dubois (b. 1980) is an acclaimed French concert organist and graduate of the Paris Conservatoire, where he studied with Olivier Latry and earned First Prizes in multiple disciplines. His international career began in 2002 after winning top prizes at organ competitions in Calgary and Toulouse, leading to performances across Europe, North America, Asia, and major festivals. He has appeared with leading orchestras, taught masterclasses at prestigious institutions, and recorded works by Liszt, Vierne, and Dupré. Since 2012 he has been Director General of the Strasbourg Conservatory, and in 2016 was appointed one of three titular organists of Notre-Dame Cathedral, Paris.
