Tenor Pene Pati, praised by Le Monde for a voice “filled with sunshine,” presents Serenata a Napoli, a celebration of the golden age of Neapolitan song (1880–1930). Alongside famous pieces like O sole mio and Funiculì funiculà, the program explores lyrical expressions of love, longing, and joy. Joined by eight musicians from Il Pomo d’Oro, led by Neapolitan guitarist Antonello Paliotti, Pati embraces traditional bowed, plucked, and strummed instruments to evoke authentic atmosphere. Drawing parallels with his Samoan heritage, he approaches the repertoire with deep respect for its accent, emotions, and stories, striving to embody the true Neapolitan spirit.

Samoan tenor Pene Pati (b. 1987, Apia) is acclaimed for his radiant, sunshine-filled voice and charismatic stage presence. The first Samoan tenor to appear on Europe’s top stages, he performs a wide-ranging repertoire from Mozart to Verdi. A Warner Classics artist, he has recorded three albums for the label. Highlights of the 2025/26 season include debuts in Offenbach’s Les contes d’Hoffmann at Staatsoper Berlin, Massenet’s Werther at Opéra Comique, and roles at La Scala and Opernhaus Zürich. A prizewinner of Operalia and Neue Stimmen, he also appears in major concert works and recitals worldwide, admired for his warmth and versatility.
