Camille Berthollet’s new solo album presents 16 tracks spanning Irish ballads, cult film themes, and songs by artists such as The Cranberries, U2, Enya, Sting, The Pogues, and Secret Garden. Accompanied by arranger and musician Johan Daalgard, Berthollet explores a wide emotional range through her violin and cello playing. Recorded in an ancient monastery in Brittany, the album captures an atmosphere of intimacy and reflection, blending Celtic inspiration with contemporary melodies in a deeply personal musical dialogue between the artist and her instruments
Born in 1999, Franco-Swiss musician Camille Berthollet began cello studies at age four in Annecy and later studied at the Geneva and Lyon Conservatories, earning top honors. She has won numerous competitions, including the Swiss Youth Competition for Music, the Popper Competition, and the Talents for Europe competition. Also a skilled violinist, she studied with notable teachers and institutions worldwide. Performing internationally on Stradivarius and del Gesù violins, she often appears with her sister Julie in duo and ensemble formats. Berthollet gained national fame in 2014 after winning France’s television competition Prodiges and later signed exclusively with Warner Classics.
