Titled after William Blake’s Little Wanderer, this album explores a world of vivid landscapes through songs by Benjamin Britten, Imogen Holst, and Daniel Kidane. Longtime collaborators since their first day at the Royal College of Music, the performers present Britten’s imaginative folk song settings and his evocative Winter Words cycle, alongside Holst’s lyrical songs and the first recording of Kidane’s Songs of Illumination, commissioned by Leeds Lieder in 2018. Reflecting over a decade of dedication to English song, the album celebrates their shared artistry and the rich emotional spectrum of the English vocal tradition.

British tenor Nick Pritchard is acclaimed for his performances of Bach, particularly as the Evangelist in the St John and St Matthew Passions, earning praise as a “masterly Evangelist” (The Guardian). His Grammy-nominated recording of the St John Passion with Sir John Eliot Gardiner solidified his reputation. Equally celebrated as a recitalist, Pritchard releases his debut album Little Wanderer in 2025 with pianist Ian Tindale, featuring songs by Britten, Holst, and Daniel Kidane. He has appeared with leading orchestras worldwide, at venues including Carnegie Hall and the Edinburgh International Festival, and is also a versatile opera performer with major European companies.

Ian Tindale is a highly sought-after British pianist specializing in song repertoire and chamber music, praised by The Telegraph as “a wonderfully responsive and assured pianist.” He has performed across Europe, North America, and the UK with leading artists such as Roderick Williams, James Gilchrist, and Nick Pritchard. Highlights include recitals at the Edinburgh International Festival, Wigmore Hall, and the Oxford International Song Festival. Artistic Director of Shipston Song, Tindale also serves as Official Pianist for the Queen Elisabeth Competition. A graduate of Cambridge and the Royal College of Music, he is a multiple prizewinner and an acclaimed collaborator in both recital and recording.
