Francesco Tristano continues his deep engagement with Bach’s keyboard music in Bach: The 7 Toccatas, released on October 31, 2025, by naïve. Recorded in Tokyo over five intense days, the album captures the vitality of Bach’s early keyboard style. Written around 1707, the seven toccatas reflect the young composer’s experimentation, blending Italian expressiveness with German structural mastery. For Tristano, the toccata embodies the spirit of play—music driven by motion, virtuosity, and joy. Following his acclaimed recordings of The 6 Partitas and The 6 English Suites, Tristano offers a modern, living dialogue with Bach’s creative genius.
