Saskia Giorgini’s new album bridges chamber music and concerto, offering an intimate yet dramatic musical journey. Mozart’s Piano Concerto in A Major, KV 414, is presented in a chamber setting, highlighting its lyrical elegance and subtle interplay. Shostakovich’s Concerto No. 1 for Piano, Trumpet, and Strings contrasts with biting wit and theatrical flair, moving swiftly between parody and poignancy. The program concludes with Shostakovich’s Piano Sonata No. 2, a deeply introspective work blending baroque clarity, melancholic lyricism, and modernist tension. Together, the repertoire showcases Giorgini’s sensitivity and versatility, revealing connections between form, emotion, and expressive innovation across centuries.

Saskia Giorgini (b. 1985) is an acclaimed Italian pianist, trained under Leonid Margarius, Enrico Pace, Elisso Virsaladze, and Pavel Gililov. Winner of the 2016 International Mozart Competition in Salzburg, she has performed in leading halls and festivals worldwide, including Teatro La Fenice, Concertgebouw, Vienna’s Musikverein, Wigmore Hall, and Suntory Hall. Giorgini collaborates with major orchestras and conductors and is a passionate chamber musician, performing with artists such as Ian Bostridge, Vilde Frang, and Janine Jansen. Her recordings, including works by Liszt, Debussy, Szymanowski, Schumann, and Enescu, have received multiple awards and critical acclaim. She is a professor at Anton Bruckner Privatuniversität and serves on international competition juries.
