Holger Engelhardt, born in Aachen, began violin studies at nine and trained under Klaus Hertel in Leipzig. Early roles included concertmaster positions in several youth and university orchestras, complemented by masterclasses and scholarships in Vienna, Paris, and Bayreuth. He later performed with the Gewandhaus Orchestra and the Anhaltische Philharmonie Dessau, and co-founded the Leipzig Philharmonic, serving as first concertmaster and board chairman. Engelhardt’s solo career features debuts at Carnegie Hall, the Leipzig Gewandhaus, the Berlin Philharmonie, and the Vienna Musikverein. Active in chamber music and recording projects, he also contributed to the 2021 film The Royal Game. He performs on a 1795 Josef Klotz violin.
