Jeneba Kanneh-Mason’s EP Jane Austen’s Piano, releasing in December 2025 on Sony Classical, honors the 250th anniversary of Jane Austen’s birth. A devoted reader of Austen, Kanneh-Mason began exploring the novelist’s references to music and the repertoire she may have played. Two key sources guided her: the surviving Austen family music books and records of the Hampshire Music Meetings, curated in part by Austen’s piano teacher, Dr. George Chard. The recording presents six piano works—reflecting Austen’s six novels—by Händel, Haydn, Kiallmark, and Cramer, along with a bonus piece by Dario Marianelli linked to Pride & Prejudice.

Jeneba Kanneh-Mason has emerged as a compelling young pianist, praised for her remarkable maturity and interpretive depth. A BBC Young Musician 2018 Keyboard Category Finalist, she has earned distinctions including the Murs du Son Prize and the Iris Dyer Piano Prize. Her recent engagements include Proms debut performances with Chineke!, concerto appearances with leading UK orchestras, and international touring across Europe, Australia, the United States, and the Caribbean. She is also establishing a strong recital profile with debuts at major venues such as Wigmore Hall and the Zurich Tonhalle. Featured widely on radio and television, she studies at the Royal College of Music as a Victoria Robey Scholar.
