In this richly contrasted programme, Trio Wanderer explores the diverse landscape of French chamber music around 1900. Spanning the passionate lyricism of Lalo, the youthful freshness of Debussy, the poetic voice of Mel Bonis, and the refined brilliance of Ravel, the selection reveals both familiar masterpieces and overlooked gems. Together, these works illuminate the many facets of a golden age in French music, forming a vivid and cohesive panorama that balances discovery with established repertoire.

Founded in 1987, Trio Wanderer comprises Vincent Coq, Jean-Marc Phillips-Varjabédian, and Raphaël Pidoux, all graduates of the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique de Paris, with further studies in the United States and advanced coaching with leading chamber musicians. After winning major international competitions, including the Fischoff and ARD competitions, the trio established an international career, performing at the world’s most prestigious venues and festivals. Since 1999, it has built an award-winning discography acclaimed by the international press, earning numerous distinctions for recordings of Haydn, Schubert, Brahms, Shostakovich, and Saint-Saëns, and is widely recognised as one of the leading chamber ensembles of its generation.
