Gemini Duo is an accordion ensemble formed by twin sisters Wanxu Zhao and Wanchen Zhao, originally from China and based in Copenhagen since 2019. After beginning their musical training on piano at age four, they later turned to the accordion and pursued studies at the Shenzhen Art School and the Shanghai Conservatory of Music, before continuing at the Royal Danish Academy of Music under Geir Draugsvoll. Their repertoire combines original works with innovative transcriptions, spanning from Tchaikovsky and Stravinsky to Piazzolla and contemporary music. Gemini Duo has performed internationally at major venues including Carnegie Hall and the Berliner Philharmonie, and has received top prizes at several prestigious international competitions.
