El Cielo 2020 is a quartet featuring violin, cello, double bass, and piano, devoted to reinterpreting Astor Piazzolla’s music with a contemporary sensibility. Since their debut album Astor Piazzolla (2020), they have garnered acclaim from audiences across classical, jazz, and post-rock communities. Celebrating their tenth anniversary in 2025, the ensemble will release their third album, re-recording iconic works such as “Libertango” and “Adiós Nonino.” Distinguished by remarkable intensity and raw energy, their interpretations stand apart. The album’s centerpiece, “Tristeza De Un Doble A,” spans over 18 minutes, opening with an extended unaccompanied violin solo before unfolding into a powerful, dramatic musical narrative.
