Spanning 2026 and 2027, the series traces her musical journey across global cultural capitals, including Berlin, Lucerne, Salzburg, Vienna, Tokyo, and New York. Each album is shaped around formative performances and recordings from these cities, offering listeners intimate, concert-like programmes drawn from milestones in her career. Celebrating her 50th stage anniversary and five decades in the recording studio, the project highlights Mutter’s enduring curiosity, artistic commitment, and ongoing creative vision.

Anne-Sophie Mutter is one of the most distinguished violinists of her generation. Born in Rheinfelden, Germany, she began studying violin at five and rose to prominence after her 1977 debut with the Berlin Philharmonic under Herbert von Karajan. Since the early 1980s, she has performed worldwide and recorded more than 50 albums, primarily for Deutsche Grammophon, earning multiple Grammy and major international awards. Renowned for championing contemporary music, she has premiered works written especially for her by leading composers.
