_____________________
With Metaludios III, pianist and composer Gustavo Díaz-Jerez advances one of the most distinctive projects in contemporary piano repertoire. Encompassing Books VI and VII, this third installment further explores the intersection of science, technology, memory, and imagination, solidifying the cycle’s status as a landmark undertaking. Drawing on artificial intelligence, astrophysics, mathematics, ancient history, visual art, and language, each work is shaped by a precise conceptual framework and innovative transformational processes. Machine learning, sonification, and algorithmic design are seamlessly integrated into Díaz-Jerez’s personal musical language, achieving a compelling balance between structural rigor and poetic expression. Collectively, Metaludios III affirms his stature as both an internationally acclaimed pianist and a forward-thinking composer.
Gustavo Díaz-Jerez (b. 1970, Canary Islands) is widely regarded as one of the leading Spanish pianists and composers of his generation, earning international acclaim for his interpretations of both contemporary works and core repertoire. He studied in Tenerife and later at the Manhattan School of Music in New York, focusing on piano and composition. Díaz-Jerez has appeared in major venues worldwide, including Carnegie Hall and London’s Royal Festival Hall. As a composer, his orchestral and solo works are frequently performed; recent highlights include premieres by major British orchestras. His recordings range from Metaludios to a celebrated high-definition release of Albéniz’s Iberia.
