Kazuoki Fujii (January 4, 1955 – January 18, 2025) was a distinguished Japanese pianist and composer born in Tokyo. He studied at Tokyo University of the Arts before continuing his training in France on a government scholarship, graduating with top honors in composition and piano from the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique de Paris and the École Normale de Paris. Fujii performed internationally and recorded extensively for European broadcasters and NHK. He released acclaimed recordings, edited the first complete piano collection of Fauré, and taught at Toho Gakuen and Tokyo University of the Arts. He died of diabetic nephropathy at age 70.
