Yunchan Lim has released his highly anticipated album Bach: Goldberg Variations – Live at Carnegie Hall on Decca Classics, marking his fourth recording since signing with the label in October 2023. Captured in concert at Carnegie Hall, the album presents Lim’s deeply personal interpretation of Bach’s monumental keyboard masterpiece, renowned for its technical demands and profound expressive scope. A work he has contemplated for much of his life, the Goldberg Variations represents a significant artistic milestone in his career. Yunchan Lim (b. 2004) rose to international fame after winning the 2022 Van Cliburn International Piano Competition at age 18, the youngest ever gold medalist. Since then, he has debuted with major orchestras including New York, Los Angeles, Munich, Seoul, Chicago, Lucerne, BBC, Boston, and Tokyo Symphony, and performed at Carnegie Hall, Wigmore Hall, Verbier Festival, Het Concertgebouw, and Suntory Hall. An exclusive Decca Classics artist, his Chopin Études album went double platinum in Korea and topped global charts. Born in Siheung, he trained under Minsoo Sohn and now studies at the New England Conservatory in Boston.
