James Gaffigan (born 11 August 1979) is an American conductor with a distinguished international career. Educated at the New England Conservatory and Rice University’s Shepherd School of Music, he further trained at Aspen and Tanglewood, winning first prize at the 2004 Sir Georg Solti International Conducting Competition. He has held prominent posts with major U.S. orchestras, including the San Francisco Symphony and the Cleveland Orchestra. Gaffigan currently serves as General Music Director of Komische Oper Berlin and recently concluded his tenure as Music Director of Palau de les Arts Reina Sofía. Widely active in Europe and North America, he is recognized for his dynamic operatic and symphonic leadership.

Gergely Madaras (born 13 August 1984 in Budapest) began his musical training in Hungarian folk traditions before studying flute, violin, and composition. He graduated from the Liszt Academy in Budapest and later studied conducting in Vienna with Mark Stringer. Since 2019, he has served as Music Director of the Orchestre Philharmonique Royal de Liège, touring internationally and building an acclaimed discography. A frequent guest with leading orchestras worldwide, he is also active in opera and contemporary music, having collaborated with major composers and appeared at prominent festivals. Madaras is recognized for combining central European tradition with a strong commitment to new repertoire.
