Celebrating his final season as Music Director of the Los Angeles Philharmonic, Gustavo Dudamel releases the first of two albums devoted to Sergei Prokofiev. The digital release features Romeo and Juliet, recorded live at the Walt Disney Concert Hall. Created in collaboration with L.A. Dance Project and its Artistic Director Benjamin Millepied, the production combined live orchestral performance with choreographed scenes staged throughout the hall and projected in real time. Hailed as a critical success, Dudamel’s interpretation was praised for its rhythmic vitality and dramatic intensity.
