Trio Barclay presents Beyond The Pacific, an album of contemporary piano trio works that reflects both chamber music refinement and a distinctly 21st-century American perspective. The recording opens with Sheridan Seyfried’s Piano Trio No. 1, a cathartic and expressive work rich in tonal color and emotional range. John Wineglass’s Orcas Island: The Rose of the San Juan Islands vividly evokes the seascapes of the Pacific Northwest, while Michael Fine’s California celebrates the Golden State’s vibrant multiculturalism. Performed with characteristic flair and intensity, the album affirms the ensemble’s reputation for dynamic artistry, offering a poignant and evocative musical homecoming.

Trio Barclay is a dynamic piano trio formed from longstanding artistic collaborations among its members, debuting in June 2021 at the Irvine Barclay Theatre and becoming the venue’s first Ensemble-in-Residence in its 30-year history. United by friendship and mutual respect, the ensemble is dedicated to elevating the piano trio repertoire, presenting compelling performances spanning the early 18th century to contemporary works. They have commissioned new compositions each season from composers including John Wineglass and Sheridan Seyfried, and have performed internationally at the Busan International Chamber Music Festival and Festival Mozaic, as well as appearing on the Disney+ and Hulu documentary Defining Courage.
