Claudio Astronio is a versatile harpsichordist, organist, and conductor, best known for directing his early music ensemble Harmonices Mundi and for an international career spanning Europe, the Americas, and Asia. He has collaborated with leading early-music artists and produced numerous award-winning recordings. Astronio is also active in opera, contemporary crossover, and interdisciplinary projects, including film. Principal conductor of the THERESIA youth baroque orchestra since 2012, he is a committed educator, holding teaching posts and masterclasses worldwide. He also plays an active role in artistic administration and early music advocacy.
