Shira Patchornik invites audiences on a journey to the castles and salons of around 1800 with a captivating program of operatic gems. Alongside beloved works such as Mozart’s Le nozze di Figaro and Haydn’s La vera costanza, the program uncovers rarely performed treasures from Italian opera of the same era. Centered on themes of love, intrigue, jealousy, and wit, these works portray maids, lovers, daughters, and rivals in both comic and dramatic scenes. With radiant stage presence and effortless coloratura, Patchornik brings these characters vividly to life. The program is complemented by a seldom-heard divertimento by Mozart, adding elegance and charm to this engaging musical tableau.

Shira Patchornik is an internationally acclaimed Israeli lyric soprano, celebrated for her expressive artistry and stylistic versatility from Baroque to contemporary repertoire. Recent and upcoming debuts include appearances at the Musikfestspiele Potsdam Sanssouci, Theater an der Wien, Internationale Barocktage Stift Melk, and the National Theater in Prague, collaborating with leading conductors such as Dorothee Oberlinger, Pablo Heras-Casado, Ottavio Dantone, and Václav Luks. She also returns regularly to major festivals including the Innsbrucker Festwochen der Alten Musik and the Händel-Festspiele Karlsruhe. A prizewinner of the Concours Corneille and the Antonio Cesti Competition, Patchornik previously served as an ensemble member at Hessisches Staatstheater Wiesbaden. Alongside her operatic career, she is active in concert, recording, and new creative projects, including writing the libretto for a children’s opera premiered in 2024.
