Barbican Quartet, based in London and winner of First Prize at the 2022 ARD Music Competition, is regarded as one of Europe’s most compelling young string quartets. Their album Lux Intus presents a rich and varied soundscape, ranging from the clarity and balance of Mozart to the emotional depth of Rebecca Clarke and Edward Elgar. The recording also features a world premiere and an exclusive commission by emerging composer Sophia Jani. The result is a refined and dynamic listening experience marked by elegance, intensity, and distinctive artistic expression

Barbican Quartet is a distinctive presence on the international chamber music scene, celebrated for its unique sound and intellectually engaging performances. The ensemble won First Prize at the 71st ARD International String Quartet Competition in 2022, following victories at the Bordeaux and Joseph Joachim competitions. Their debut album, Manifesto on Love (Genuin Classics, 2024), received critical acclaim and major radio features. Recent and upcoming highlights include appearances at leading European venues and U.S. tours. The Quartet currently holds the Nina Drucker Fellowship at the Royal Academy of Music in London, where its members also coach chamber music.
