After three acclaimed recital recordings with Alpha Classics, Filippo Gorini launches Sonata for 7 Cities, an ambitious artistic and humanitarian project conceived as a global journey through seven diverse cultural capitals. Beginning in Vienna—with future installments in Cape Town and Hong Kong—Gorini resides in each city for a month, offering free performances in unconventional venues such as hospitals, prisons, and refugee centers while engaging with local students. Each program pairs cornerstone repertoire, here works by Schubert and Beethoven, with a newly commissioned composition. For this first volume, Stefano Gervasoni contributes a substantial and expressive piano sonata, enriching the dialogue between tradition and contemporary creation.

Filippo Gorini has earned international acclaim for performances at leading venues including Teatro alla Scala, Carnegie Hall, Concertgebouw, and Wigmore Hall, collaborating with major orchestras under distinguished conductors. Celebrated for his profound interpretations of Bach, Beethoven, and Schubert, he also champions contemporary composers and innovative programming. His accolades include Italy’s Premio Abbiati (2022), the Borletti-Buitoni Trust Award (2020), and First Prize at the Telekom-Beethoven Competition (2015). A graduate of the Donizetti Conservatory and Mozarteum University Salzburg, Gorini further refined his artistry with mentors including Alfred Brendel and Mitsuko Uchida.
