In Vieni, o Notte, her debut recording for Aparté, Francesca Aspromonte presents an all-Scarlatti program exploring themes of love and nocturnal introspection. Collaborating with Arsenale Sonoro and Boris Begelman, she performs three cantatas in which night becomes a dramatic setting for unfulfilled passion, expressed through deeply emotional arias and recitatives. The album also features two sonate a quattro, whose madrigalian textures and striking harmonic contrasts are vividly rendered. It concludes with the world-premiere recording of All’hor che stanco il sole, where Aspromonte’s refined vocal line and sensitivity to text illuminate the music’s sensual depth and expressive poignancy.

Francesca Aspromonte is a highly acclaimed soprano of her generation, trained at the Mozarteum Salzburg and the Accademia Nazionale di Santa Cecilia under Renata Scotto. She has performed at leading venues worldwide, including Teatro alla Scala, Carnegie Hall, and the Wiener Musikverein, collaborating with distinguished conductors such as Zubin Mehta and John Eliot Gardiner. Renowned for her interpretations of Baroque repertoire, she has taken on major operatic roles at prominent festivals and opera houses. Her award-winning discography spans several major labels, with notable albums like Prologue and Maria & Maddalena. Since 2019, she has also taught Baroque performance practice at the Royal Conservatoire of The Hague.

Founded in 2014 by Boris Begelman, Arsenale Sonoro has quickly established itself as a leading Baroque ensemble, earning critical acclaim for recordings such as Telemann Violin Sonatas (Sony DHM) and Scarlatti Violin Sonatas (Obsidian 2022), which reinterpret harpsichord works for violin and continuo. Based in Bologna, the ensemble performs in both chamber and orchestral settings at major festivals across Europe, including Elbphilharmonie, Regensburg, Valletta, and Urbino. Dedicated to reviving forgotten Baroque works, they have premiered compositions by Perti, Predieri, and Leonardo Vinci. Their latest release, Un’alma innamorata with soprano Francesca Aspromonte, has received widespread acclaim, while upcoming projects include further recordings and high-profile festival appearances.
