Sondra Radvanovsky, in collaboration with Lyric Opera of Chicago and conductor Enrique Mazzola, presents Puccini: Heroines, a live recording from February 2025 featuring an all-Puccini program. Radvanovsky’s voice brings distinct character to each role, from the lyricism of Anna and Mimì to the dramatic intensity of Tosca and Turandot, including roles new to her stage repertoire. The performance showcases Puccini’s mastery of emotionally charged arias and character depth, spanning works from Le Villi and Manon Lescaut to La Bohème and Turandot. Encores include Musetta and Lauretta, highlighting both theatrical flair and expressive nuance, continuing Radvanovsky’s acclaimed collaboration with the Lyric Opera Orchestra and Mazzola.
Sondra Radvanovsky (born 1969) is an internationally celebrated soprano renowned for her interpretations of Verdi and Puccini heroines, as well as bel canto repertoire. A graduate of the Lindemann Young Artist Development Program at The Metropolitan Opera, she has performed at the world’s leading opera houses, including Teatro alla Scala, Royal Opera House, Deutsche Oper Berlin, Lyric Opera of Chicago, and The Met. Radvanovsky is acclaimed for roles such as Tosca, Turandot, Aida, Lady Macbeth, and Donizetti’s “Three Queens,” and her concert repertoire includes performances with major orchestras and recitals worldwide. Her discography features critically acclaimed recordings on Delos, Warner Classics, and PENTATONE, and she appears on numerous DVDs for The Metropolitan Opera: Live in HD. In 2025/26, she continues to tour globally in signature Puccini and Verdi roles, alongside recitals and concert performances, maintaining a reputation as one of today’s leading dramatic sopranos.
