Tekla Griebel Wandall (1866–1940) was a Danish composer who debuted in the 1890s and continued composing throughout her life despite financial difficulties. This album of world premiere recordings presents songs spanning her entire creative career, from works performed at her debut to the more introspective and experimental pieces of her later years. Performed by a group of emerging Danish singers, the recordings highlight the expressive range of her music. Griebel Wandall’s songs explore strong emotional contrasts, setting texts by poets such as Heinrich Heine and J.P. Jacobsen, and balancing irony, drama, and introspection while experimenting with musical form and expressive depth.

High Resolution 24-bit / 176.4 kHz
