Shadows and Visions, performed by pianist Nour Ayadi, presents a program that explores the limits of tonality and the transformation of musical language. Centered around the symbolic figure of Faust, the album traces a path through works that reflect inner conflict, mythic struggle, and artistic transition. Themes of declining tonality and evolving musical forms create a sense of passage between eras, where traditional structures begin to dissolve and new expressive possibilities emerge. Through this concept, the recording offers a dramatic and introspective journey into a pivotal moment in musical history, capturing the tension between darkness and vision as a new musical language takes shape.
Moroccan pianist Nour Ayadi began studying music at age six in her home country before continuing her training in France at the École Normale de Musique de Paris and the Paris Conservatoire, where she earned a Performing Artist Diploma and later a State Diploma in teaching. From 2021 to 2023 she studied under Nelson Goerner at the Haute École de Musique de Genève and is currently an artist in residence at the Queen Elisabeth Music Chapel. Winner of the Prix Cortot and a nominee for the Victoires de la Musique Classique 2024, she performs internationally with leading orchestras and artists. Her acclaimed recordings, festival appearances, and academic background from Sciences Po Paris reflect both artistic excellence and broad intellectual engagement.
