Arcangelo Corelli was one of the most celebrated composers of his era, whose influence shaped generations of European musicians. Pantheon – Corelli’s Orbit explores not only Corelli’s work but also that of his students, contemporaries, and followers, including Castrucci, Somis, and Mascitti. Performed by Concerto Köln in collaboration with the distinguished violinist Evgeny Sviridov, the album brings attention to overlooked masterpieces and illuminates the vibrant musical universe that revolved around Corelli’s genius.

Concerto Köln, founded in 1985 by graduates of European music colleges, is a distinguished period-instrument ensemble dedicated to historically informed performance of 17th- and 18th-century orchestral and operatic music. Self-governing and often performing without a conductor, the group emphasizes chamber-like collaboration and draws on the artistic input of all members under the leadership of Artistic Director Werner Ehrhardt. Renowned for reviving neglected works, Concerto Köln co-founded the Festtage Alte Musik Köln with Deutschlandfunk in 1992 and has performed extensively across Europe, South America, and South Asia. The ensemble has collaborated with leading soloists and conductors, and records under labels including Teldec Classic International.
