Toscha Seidel (1899–1962) was a Russian-born virtuoso renowned for his rich, romantic tone and expressive rubato. Born in Odessa to a Jewish family, he trained under Leopold Auer in St. Petersburg. After emigrating to the United States in the 1930s, he built a successful career in Hollywood, contributing as a soloist to major films and working in radio with CBS. He also inspired a song by George Gershwin and gave violin lessons to Albert Einstein, reflecting his wide cultural influence.
