South Korean flautist Jeehee Han’s debut album is dedicated to three works by Carl Reinecke, a key figure in the Romantic flute repertoire. The programme reflects Han’s long-standing personal connection to his music, which began in her early teens and has shaped her artistic identity. The recording features the Sonata Undine with pianist Lang Lang, who praises Han’s committed interpretation, as well as the Flute Concerto in D major and the Ballade in D minor with the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra conducted by Vasily Petrenko. The album presents Reinecke’s music in a renewed light through distinguished collaborations and expressive performances.

Jeehee Han’s artistic development is rooted in a family environment shaped by discipline, trust, and cultural refinement. Raised by a father known for his integrity in the aviation industry and a mother who ran a French restaurant, she grew up in a setting where structure and artistic sensibility coexisted. Her training spans major international traditions, including studies in Vienna, Paris, and at Oberlin Conservatory with Michel Debost, followed by a doctorate from Seoul National University. Alongside her performing career, she balances significant family responsibilities. Her artistry is presented as an extension of her personal history, uniting technical skill with lived experience and heritage.
