Inspired by Canto Ostinato, which he first encountered in the late 1980s, Dominy Clements spent decades developing his own minimalist voice, culminating in Desires and Adorations, a 45-minute immersive work for woodwinds and piano. Having studied under Louis Andriessen, Clements initially struggled to avoid stylistic imitation before shifting toward a more personal, harmony-driven approach. The piece builds from simple rhythmic cells, creating a flowing, meditative soundscape. Championed by Solaire Records, the work balances structural sophistication with accessibility, offering listeners both deep engagement and effortless, atmospheric listening.

Dominy Clements (born 1964 in Newport, South Wales) is a composer and flautist who graduated from the Royal Academy of Music in 1987, studying with Christopher Brown, Edward Gregson, and Roger Steptoe. He further developed his craft through masterclasses with Krzysztof Penderecki and Hans Werner Henze, later continuing studies in the Netherlands with Louis Andriessen. An award-winning composer, he has received multiple international prizes and works professionally as a musician and educator at the Royal Conservatoire in The Hague, while performing with ensembles including Duo Hofinger and the Netherlands Flute Orchestra.
