This album is a tribute to Ernest Chausson, bringing together leading French musicians including violinist Renaud Capuçon, the Quatuor Ébène, and pianist Nicholas Angelich. Born in Chambéry in 1976, Renaud Capuçon is one of today’s leading French violinists. Trained at the Conservatoire de Paris and further mentored by Thomas Brandis and Isaac Stern, he achieved early international recognition through major prizes and awards. His career was significantly shaped by Claudio Abbado, with whom he served as concertmaster of the Gustav Mahler Jugendorchester. Capuçon has appeared with the world’s foremost orchestras, conductors, and chamber musicians, and performs regularly at major international festivals. His extensive, award-winning discography reflects a broad repertoire. He plays the 1737 Guarneri del Gesù “Panette,” formerly owned by Isaac Stern.
