Hansjörg Schellenberger (born 1948) is a German oboist and conductor recognized for his distinguished international career. He has performed extensively, often focusing on contemporary music, and has received awards in multiple international competitions. As a soloist, he has collaborated with leading ensembles such as the Cologne Radio Orchestra and the Berlin Philharmonic Orchestra, working under eminent conductors including Karajan, Leinsdorf, Giulini, Muti, Mehta, and Abbado. In addition to his performance career, he has devoted significant effort to chamber music and teaching, and served as chief conductor and artistic director of the Berliner Symphoniker. His album featuring works by Bach, Schumann, Britten, and Poulenc is part of Deutsche Grammophon’s debut series.
