Raíces y Alas, a symphonic work by Chilean composer Sebastián Errázuriz, premiered at Estación Mapocho before an audience of over 5,500 and is now being submitted to the Latin GRAMMYs. Created to mark the 80th anniversary of Gabriela Mistral’s Nobel Prize, the piece offers a contemporary musical interpretation of her legacy. Led by Vibra Clásica and conducted by Alejandra Urrutia, the project brought together more than 100 musicians, a mezzo-soprano, and extensive community and children’s choirs. Featuring Javiera Barrios as soloist, the recording captures the energy of the Concert for Brotherhood, highlighting both artistic excellence and broad community engagement.

Sebastián Errázuriz (born 1975 in Santiago, Chile) is an award-winning Chilean composer, conductor, and producer whose work spans opera, orchestral, chamber, and multimedia music. He gained major recognition with his opera Viento Blanco, earning the Altazor Prize and critical acclaim. Educated at the Instituto Profesional Escuela Moderna de Música and the Universidad de Chile, he has studied with prominent composers and conducted extensively. His music has been performed by leading Chilean orchestras and featured in festivals and major venues. Errázuriz has composed numerous recordings and stage works, including operas and ballets, while also serving as Musical Director at Universidad San Sebastián since 2012.
