This recording marks Violetta Khachikyan’s third solo album, focusing on seldom-performed works from the Renaissance, early Baroque, and Classical periods, reinterpreted through the expressive capabilities of the modern grand piano. The program highlights composers such as Marianne von Martinez, Élisabeth Jacquet de La Guerre, and Yekaterina Alexeyevna Vorontsova, emphasizing their unique contributions. Maurice Ravel’s Le Tombeau de Couperin serves as both a reflective homage and an innovative synthesis, blending historical dance forms with modern harmonic language and pianistic techniques.

Violetta Khachikyan is a versatile pianist active as a soloist, recitalist, and chamber musician. Born in Krasnodar to an Armenian family, she began studying piano with her mother and debuted publicly at age twelve. She trained at the Krasnodar College of Music and later at the Rimsky-Korsakov Saint Petersburg State Conservatory, developing a strong affinity for Russian composers. Further studies with renowned pedagogues and completion of her Konzertexamen at the Lübeck Music Academy shaped her artistic growth. An award-winning performer, she gained international recognition after her success at the Bremen International Piano Competition and has since appeared with major orchestras, performed globally, and taught in leading German music institutions.
