This collection explores Franz Liszt’s wide musical network by presenting his arrangements, transcriptions, and creative expansions of works by his contemporaries and close associates. Reflecting Liszt’s characteristic generosity and advocacy, the program includes dance-inspired music by composers such as Carl Maria von Weber and Bedřich Smetana, alongside contributions related to his Weimar circle, including material associated with Joachim Raff. It also features a virtuosic solo transcription of Tanzmomente by Johann von Herbeck. Together, these works highlight Liszt’s role not only as a composer and performer, but also as a musical mediator who reimagined and amplified the voices of his artistic community.
