The album Landing Place presents an intimate and contemplative exploration of viola and piano in close, carefully balanced dialogue. MonoTony Ænsemble is a 2025 debut project formed by music producer Zuzanna Ossowska and viola soloist Krzysztof Komendarek-Tymendorf, uniting piano and viola in an experimental, cinematic, and neoclassical framework. The duo explores an expanded sonic language that blends acoustic performance with electroacoustic processing and avant-garde techniques, pushing beyond conventional classical boundaries. The viola assumes both melodic and percussive roles through extended techniques such as Bartók pizzicato, scordatura, and tapping, while piano textures provide atmospheric and harmonic depth. Influenced by approaches akin to musique concrète, their work incorporates ambient and incidental sounds to create immersive, multidimensional soundscapes. The result is a bold and exploratory musical project focused on texture, timbre, and sound design.
