With this sixth volume, the Arcadia Quartet completes its comprehensive recording series dedicated to the string quartets of Mieczysław Weinberg. Reflecting on the project, the ensemble highlights the rare and profound impact of discovering Weinberg's music, praising its deeply inspired melodies and perfectly shaped structures. They note that despite today's advanced information technology, such meaningful historical masterpieces are seldom overlooked, making this project an exceptionally special endeavor. Spurred by both their personal joy in performing these works and the enthusiastic responses from concert audiences, the Arcadia Quartet has made it their mission to illuminate and bring widespread recognition to Weinberg's long-neglected but monumental musical legacy.

Founded in 2006 at the "Gheorghe Dima" Music Academy, the Arcadia Quartet is an internationally acclaimed ensemble that honed its expertise at the University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna and the European Chamber Music Academy. The quartet maintains a permanent residency at the "Tinerimea Română" National Art Center in Bucharest, has broadcasted live on BBC Radio 3 from Wigmore Hall, and frequently collaborates with world-renowned classical artists. Their prominent discography with Chandos Records includes the complete string quartets of Béla Bartók and a critically lauded, multi-volume cycle of Mieczysław Weinberg's 17 quartets, which has earned prestigious accolades like the Diapason d'Or. Dedicated to mentorship, the group also founded the annual Arcadia Chamber Music Classes in Cluj-Napoca to educate the next generation of string ensembles.
