Acclaimed pianist Kotaro Fukuma presents a stunning collection of piano arrangements that masterfully combine technical virtuosity with expressive lyricism. The program features celebrated transcriptions, including Liszt's settings of Schumann and Wagner, alongside Fukuma's own fan-requested arrangements of Mozart’s Eine kleine Nachtmusik and a medley of French songs. It also boasts virtuosic showpieces by Ponchielli and Tchaikovsky, as well as the world-premiere CD release of Leslie Howard's Turandot reminiscences.
Tokyo-born pianist Kotaro Fukuma established an international concert career after winning First Prize and the Chopin Prize at the 15th Cleveland International Piano Competition at age twenty. He has since performed across five continents at prestigious venues like Carnegie Hall, Wigmore Hall, and Suntory Hall, collaborating with elite orchestras including the Cleveland Orchestra and the Moscow Philharmonic. Renowned for his championing of contemporary music and rare repertoire, Fukuma has premiered numerous modern works and curates the "Rare Piano Music" concert series. An alumnus of the Paris Conservatoire, he has released twenty critically acclaimed CDs, including an ICMA-nominated album.
