Born in Seoul in 1999, violinist Donghyun Kim is a celebrated prodigy who debuted at the Kumho Art Hall in 2012. A graduate of the Korea National University of Arts and the University of Music and Performing Arts Munich, he recently completed advanced studies under Christoph Poppen at the Reina Sofía School of Music, earning the 2025 outstanding student diploma from Queen Sofía. Kim has won numerous competitions, including the Seoul International Music Competition, and performed globally with elite orchestras like the Seoul Philharmonic. Currently playing a 1763 Guadagnini violin loaned by the Kumho Asiana Cultural Foundation, he remains an active, premier international soloist and chamber musician.
