Giuseppe Verdi was a seasoned 32-year-old composer when his ninth opera, Attila, premiered in Venice in March 1846. The ancient narrative of the Hun king serves as a dramatic canvas for this artistic maturity. Marcus Bosch (born 1969) is a leading German conductor, educator, and innovator recognized for his classical clarity and technical precision. Since 2010, he has served as the Artistic Director of the Opera Festival in Heidenheim, where he established the acclaimed Cappella Aquileia orchestra. Bosch’s expansive career includes general music director roles in Aachen and Nuremberg, chief conductor positions in Rostock and Graubünden, and guest engagements with over 100 orchestras worldwide. A pioneer in digital classical broadcasts, he is also a Professor of Conducting in Munich and has built a celebrated, award-winning discography spanning Bruckner, Dvořák, and early Verdi.
