In the collaborative recording Turina, Saint-Saëns, Tchaikovsky, Turkish violinist Ebru Doğaner and pianist Günay Tuzkaya deliver a refined performance of classical and romantic masterpieces. Recorded within the elegant acoustics of Istanbul’s Beyoğlu Armenian Catholic Patriarchate, the album features a curated program including Joaquín Turina’s Sonata No. 2, Camille Saint-Saëns’ virtuosic Havanaise, and Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky’s lyrical Méditation. Throughout the selection, the duo showcases exceptional artistry and a sophisticated musical synergy. Their cohesive interpretation effectively balances technical precision with deep expressive warmth, offering listeners a captivating and polished journey through diverse stylistic eras.
Ebru Doğaner is an accomplished Turkish violinist and faculty member at Hacettepe University Ankara State Conservatory. A distinguished alumna of the institution, she graduated as department valedictorian and received the prestigious İhsan Doğramacı Outstanding Achievement Award before completing her advanced degrees. Her international orchestral experience includes collaborations with Italy's Musica Europa Opera Orchestra and the UNICEF World Youth Symphony Orchestra, alongside specialized pedagogical training at Poland's Karol Lipinski Music Academy. As an active soloist, masterclass instructor, and founding member of the Ankara Contemporary Music Ensemble, Prof. Doğaner regularly performs at premier global venues and major international music festivals.
Born in Baku in 1983 into a musical family, pianist Günay Tuzkaya demonstrated early talent, beginning her training at the Baku Bulbul Music School at age five. She later earned a distinction degree from the Baku Music Academy under the guidance of State Artist Gülşen Annağiyeva. Relocating to Türkiye on a state scholarship, Tuzkaya completed her master's and doctoral qualifications at the Hacettepe University Ankara State Conservatory under Professor Güherdal Çakırsoy. An active performer, she has given numerous domestic and international recitals, participated in major competitions, and voluntarily teaches piano as a member of the Ankara Polyphonic Music Association.
