For David and Marijke, Noota represents a natural evolution of their long-standing partnership, which began in 2009 with the Melisma Saxophone Quartet and continues through the Nederlands Saxofoon Octet. Driven by the pure joy of performance, the duo established this project to share deeply personal repertoire with their audience. The album features a curated selection of works composed specifically for them, custom arrangements by David, and other compelling pieces. Enhanced by rewarding collaborations with composers Dolf and Christian, the resulting collection offers an inspiring, multidimensional musical experience that remains close to both musicians' hearts.

Marijke Schröer is an accomplished classical saxophonist, chamber musician, programmer, and entrepreneur. A graduate of the Amsterdam Conservatory, she performs internationally across Europe, Asia, and the Americas as a member of the Melisma Saxophone Quartet, Noota Saxophone Duo, Nederlands Saxofoon Octet, and Duo Saxyon. Her acclaimed discography includes several highly praised debut albums, and her collaborative projects regularly feature dedicated works by contemporary composers. Beyond her extensive performance career, Schröer holds prominent leadership roles in the cultural sector, serving as the artistic director of the Uitgast Festival, head programmer of the Grachtenfestival Amsterdam, and an advisor for the Performing Arts Fund.

David Cristóbal Litago is an acclaimed Spanish classical saxophonist specializing in chamber music. He earned his bachelor's degree with highest honors from the Musikene Conservatory, followed by a master's degree from the Conservatory of Amsterdam under Arno Bornkamp, with additional studies at the CNSM in Paris. As a member of the Melisma Saxophone Quartet, Litago has won prestigious accolades, including prizes at the Osaka International Chamber Music Competition and the Concurso Internacional de Benidorm. Supported by grants from Becas Navarra and the Prins Bernhard Cultuurfonds, he performs extensively throughout Europe and exclusively plays Selmer instruments.
