César Franck’s youthful Trio in F-sharp minor opens the collection with vibrant creative energy, characterized by emotionally compelling melodies and an expansive sense of freedom. In contrast, Edvard Grieg’s single-movement piano trio unfolds as a delicate, shimmering exploration of light and motion. Concluding the panorama is the enigmatic A-major Trio, a deeply rooted yet anonymous work historically attributed to Johannes Brahms. Together, these selections offer a compelling overview of chamber repertoire, seamlessly balancing bold youthfulness, poetic intimacy, and intriguing historical mystery.

Founded in Hamburg in 2019 and named after E. T. A. Hoffmann, the German piano trio Trio E.T.A. performs a diverse repertoire ranging from classical masterpieces to contemporary discoveries. The acclaimed ensemble includes violinist Elene Meipariani, cellist Nadja Reich, and pianist Till Hoffmann, all distinguished competition prizewinners. Trio ETA has won prestigious awards, including the 2021 German Music Competition Prize and the 2022 Walbusch Prize. Following their 2023 debut album on the Genuin label, they have been featured in numerous ARD, SWR, and BR broadcast productions, and were selected for the prestigious three-year "SWR2 – New Talent" development program.
